Responsibilities

Provide a safe and stimulating learning environment for children
Design and implement age-appropriate educational activities
Encourage children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development
Collaborate with parents to ensure the overall well-being of children
Monitor children’s progress and document their development

Qualifications

Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is preferred but not required
Ability to educate and interact with children in a positive manner
Knowledge of best pedagogical practices for young learners is a plus
Skills in classroom management and effective communication

Rémunération

Competitive starting salary of $24 per hour plus government bonus depending on level.

Level 1: Additional $2.64/hour
Level 2: Additional $5.04/hour
Level 3: Additional $8.62/hour

Early Childhood Education Orientation Course

This is a non-credit course that reviews aspects of early childhood development and the role of the caregiver. This course is funded by the Government of Alberta with no cost to the participant.

The Orientation Course consists of 10 Sessions covering a range of topics such as observations, providing for play, and guiding behavior as these ideas relate to working with young children in a child care setting.
